JOBACASEN PINTOR
Jobacasén is the stage name made with the synthesis of the first letters of the real name of Joan Baptista Cabré i Sendròs. Jobacasén was born in Riudoms (Tarragona) in 1952.
At school he already stood out as a very young child for his natural drawing skills. At only 12 years old he was the winner of the Riudoms “Quick Street Painting Award”, and at 14 years old he was the winner of the “Miniature Nativity Scene Award”. ” from Tarragona, at the age of 15 he was the winner of the “Riudoms Painting Prize” and from the age of 15 to 17 he made painted sets for theatrical performances in the Casal de Riudoms theater. To improve his technique with sculpture, he learned the carpentry trade for three years.
Jobacasén has dedicated his entire life to art and although he resides in Cambrils, he has had a strong presence in the German art market. He has held more than 100 exhibitions throughout his professional career, including those in Tarragona, Barcelona, ​​​​Madrid, Gerona, Lérida, Pamplona, ​​Sagunto, Encamp, Piacenza, Miami, Salzburg, Mexico and A good part of these 100 exhibitions and activities have been carried out in Germany (Berlin, Munich, Frankfurt and Dortmund).
German critics have placed him as one of the best current painters in the world and have said of the artist that “The joy of living is included in his paintings,” and that “His works boil with joy, adventure and optimism, along with security and wisdom.”
Jobacasén has experienced art in many places, between 1982 and 1991 he dedicated his professional life to decoration and interior design, focusing his activity on private homes, restaurants, shops of different types and nightclubs, mainly in Barcelona and the Tarragona coast. Jobacasén has also made designs for ties, handkerchiefs, watches, bottles of oil, cava and wine.
Jobacasén's work is made with an acrylic base and a background of paper, fabric and wood, standing out both for the abstraction of its forms and for its bright and luminous color exaltation. All of it with surreal and magical notes, only with slight figurative references, but without settling on the terrain delimited by any of them. In the creation of the entire work there is the fun and carefree irony of the artist.
An enthusiastic environmentalist, Jobacasén uses in his artistic work materials recycled by himself and that he shows us with pride: paper, cardboard, wood and other waste elements, through a system applied in his workshop and studio.
He has been awarded at numerous exhibitions, fairs, speed painting competitions and decorative venue design events, both enduring and ephemeral.
His work appears in many public and private collections, as well as in public and museum spaces.
