LUZ ANGELICA ARTISTA
Luz Angélica Huasasquíche Pérez was born in Lima, Peru, in 1989. She studied drawing at the Cultural Center of the School of Fine Arts of Peru and painting at Alas Peruanas University while pursuing her law degree. However, she considers herself a self-taught artist.
Her learning process has been self-guided and has focused primarily on practical experimentation, with a constant dedication to independent study, practicing and experimenting in her studio for a minimum of 10 hours a week, driven by a strong passion for exploring the intersection between the traditional and the contemporary.
Throughout her life, she has had two parallel passions: First, law. Her legal studies provided her with structure, purpose, and a profession. Second, art, which has always been a constant whisper within her and a secret language of colors and forms with which she wishes to connect with the viewer of her work, sharing the emotion it creates and which motivates her to continue experimenting and creating. She uses a wide variety of techniques and media, from acrylic paint and watercolor to pencil drawing, pens, markers, digital collage, and the use of materials such as sand and textiles.
She has held numerous exhibitions and has received several painting awards, including second place in the 2006 Art Competition organized by Alas Peruanas University and first place in the 2018 and 2021 Spring Floral Games held in Lima.
