BIOGRAPHY

María José Sánchez Iranzo was born in 1951. Her passion for art began at a very young age, discovering the technique of drawing and painting on her own, so she can initially be considered a self-taught painter.
Upon completing her university education, María José joined the Sanvisens Art School in Barcelona, where, directed by the prestigious painter Teresa Llacer, she acquired the discipline of professional artistic work and the style that has always characterized her, especially with the oil technique and with the colors that give a special life to her work.
María José acquired a solid artistic training that has always accompanied her and that clearly demonstrated the quality of her work, very close to the great masters of Catalan painting Ramon Sanvicens and Teresa Llacer and beyond, for the colors and strokes inspired by the work of Bonnard and Gauguin.
The work of María José Sánchez Iranzo is prolific in landscapes, still lifes and seascapes and is within a modern figurative pictorial line that can be considered fauvist and at the same time expressionist, with a wide freedom in the use of colors, with which she shows her special and characteristic personal and poetic vision of reality.
María José Sánchez Iranzo has held multiple individual and collective exhibitions throughout her life and her work is in multiple private collections.
