QUERALT OSORIO
Queralt Osório was born in Reus in 1978. From a very young age, during her adolescence, she discovered how to express herself through art, especially painting and sculpture. She studied at the School of Art and Design in Tarragona, where she graduated in Applied Arts. Already working as an artist, her early works were inspired by her travels to Africa, the Middle East, and India. Women have always been the predominant theme in her creative process, using their figures as a language to communicate sensations, feelings of passion, loneliness, or pain. For her, contemporary culture shapes our desires and needs, influencing even how we experience pleasure. Eroticism is an essential part of our human nature, reflecting, for the artist, her way of feeling, being, and wanting. It is an instinct that defines us from the beginning, and through nudes, she finds a way to express freedom and emotions with absolute intimacy, transforming the body into a diary where every gesture is a page written with the utmost sincerity. She has received several painting awards and illustrated numerous books, frequently contributing her work to charitable projects. She has participated in a large number of solo and group exhibitions, including those at: the Haegumgang Museum in South Korea, the Torre del Port Museum in Cambrils, the El Pati Gallery in Cambrils, the Salou Nautical Club, the Art Amill Gallery in Vinyols i els Arcs, the Àmbits Gallery in Cambrils, the Montbrió del Camp Visual Arts Exhibition, the Fortuny Gallery in Reus, the Bofarull Palace in Reus, the Tarragona City Hall, the Maruja Mallo Gallery in Madrid, and the London City Hall-Group.
