VICKY ROLDAN
Vicky Roldán was born in Tarragona in 1958. She holds a degree in Fine Arts from the University of Barcelona and degrees in History and Social and Cultural Anthropology from the Rovira i Virgili University.
She had a very early artistic and teaching vocation, which led her to found her first art school, Julio Antonio, together with Francisco Mayol Hungría.
Her style can be defined within many distinct artistic currents, all of which she handles with mastery. These include expressionism and abstraction, which, in turn, contrast with her hyperrealistic photographic painting.
Her works attempt to transcend and go beyond the physical object of the painting; she seeks to be a philosophical mystic with the immortality of the soul, trying to make the invisible visible, as in dreams, which can be the basis for the discovery of alternative realities. She has participated in numerous solo and group exhibitions in various Catalan and Spanish locations, and her work is highly regarded.
